Physical Description
The Dungeon Master resembles a centaur assembled entirely from store mannequins.
Its body consists of two fused mannequin torsos. The first rises upright and supports four arms. The second forms the creature's horizontal lower body, with four mannequin legs supporting its weight. It possesses no organic horse anatomy; every visible part originated from a human-shaped display mannequin that has been broken, repositioned, and joined into a new structure.
Four mannequin heads have been fused into a single enlarged head. The faces point in different directions, allowing the creature to appear as though it is watching several parts of the battlefield simultaneously.
Mannequin fingers emerge from the scalp of each head. The fingers rise above the fused faces and interlock to form a crown. The crown is not ornamental or separate from the creature. It is part of its body, with visible joints, knuckles, and cracked synthetic material.
Its surface resembles aged ivory plastic. Cracks spread across the limbs and torsos, while purple MANA light leaks through the fractures and exposed joints.
Weapon
The Dungeon Master carries a detached mannequin arm as a weapon.
The arm remains rigid and is gripped by the forearm like a club. Long claws extend from the shoulder-joint end, transforming the shoulder socket into the weapon's striking head. When carried at rest, the arm hangs near the creature's lower torso, keeping the claws close to the ground until it attacks.
The weapon must always remain visibly identifiable as a mannequin arm. It is not a sword, spear, conventional club, or naturally grown limb.
Established Anatomy
- One composite head containing four fused mannequin faces
- One crown constructed from interlocking mannequin fingers
- Two fused mannequin torsos
- Four upper arms
- Four supporting legs
- One detached mannequin-arm weapon
- Claws emerging from the weapon's shoulder-joint area
Visual Behavior
The different faces should create uncertainty about where the creature is looking. Even when one face appears fixed on a target, the others may be watching the rest of the team.
Its movements should retain the unnatural qualities of the dungeon's lesser mannequins: abrupt stops, joints turning farther than expected, and moments of complete stillness that resemble an ordinary store display.
Undecided
- Exact effect and trigger conditions of Royal Fury
- Full relationship between the four faces and battlefield awareness
- Weak points
- Properties of the five unscanned Power Gems
- Whether a reset produces the same Dungeon Master
Narrative Purpose
The creature is the culmination of the Governor's Square dungeon's mannequin horror. Its design should make familiar retail displays feel permanently unsafe: not a living animal wearing mannequin parts, but mannequins forced together into a body the human mind recognizes only imperfectly.
